As the UAE prepares to announce November fuel prices, the question on many residents' minds is whether petrol costs will surpass the previous record high of Dh4.63 a litre, set in July 2022.
Under October 2026 rates, Super 98 petrol costs Dh4.40 a litre, Special 95 is priced at Dh4.28, and E-Plus 91 stands at Dh4.21 — up sharply from September's Dh3.80, Dh3.69 and Dh3.61 respectively. The steady climb has fuelled speculation that a new record could be set next month.
Daniel Takieddine, co-founder and CEO of Sky Links Capital Group, pointed to intensifying regional diplomacy as a key factor, noting: "Regional governments have stepped up contacts with Tehran in an attempt to revive negotiations, while Iran has shown some willingness to discuss a faster timetable under certain conditions." benchmark Brent crude was trading at $115.68 a barrel at the time of writing, a level also influenced by Houthi attacks on Saudi energy facilities. Ongoing geopolitical tension in the Middle East remains one of the main drivers of oil — and by extension fuel — price swings in the UAE.
UAE fuel prices are set monthly based on global oil benchmarks, with the final November rates due to be announced in the coming days.
