Dubai Industrial City, part of TECOM Group, has launched a dedicated fitness hub aimed at bringing the city's annual fitness movement directly into the workplace, giving factory and warehouse staff in the district a way to take part in Dubai Fitness Challenge 2026. The initiative opened with a two-kilometre community walk that brought together employees from companies based across the industrial zone.
Over an eight-day programme running until Sunday, 8 November, workers in the area can join yoga classes, Zumba sessions and Fit & Flex workouts organised on-site. A football tournament featuring eight teams drawn from different companies operating in the district has also been organised, adding a competitive element to the week.
Organisers say the goal is to extend physical activity into working environments that are usually left out of Dubai's citywide fitness events — specifically industrial workers who rarely have the time or access to join conventional gyms or sports centres elsewhere in the city. By bringing classes and tournaments directly to the industrial zone, the hub removes a logistical barrier that has traditionally kept many labourers from participating in city-run wellness campaigns.
The move reflects how Dubai Fitness Challenge, which draws large crowds across the city every year through parks, gyms and public spaces, is now expanding into industrial and workplace settings that fall outside its usual venues. It marks the first time Dubai Industrial City has run a dedicated programme of this kind specifically for its own workforce and resident businesses.
